About Plexus

Plexus Consulting Ltd was established in 1997 to provide high quality independent ICT project management and consulting services.  Steve Southall operates as principal consultant and owner.

Why Plexus?

A plexus is a network of interlaced parts - a useful description for both a project team, and interconnected computer applications and infrastructure.  The Plexus Chakra (right) is symbolised by a lotus with ten petals, and can loosely be interpreted as causing transitions - a suitable metaphor for a project manager as an agent of change.

Environmental Sustainability

Plexus takes the following steps to minimise its carbon footprint:
  • Clients are visited using bicycles, motorcycles, public transport or cars (in that preferential order depending on requirements)
  • Waste is recycled or composted where possible
  • Energy use is minimised by switching off unused devices, and selecting energy-efficient appliances.

Terms of Engagement

Steve is available on long term contract, typically with a project focus of three to twelve months duration.  Steve's services are available on an hourly or daily rate, subject to negotiation depending on the length of engagement.

Advocacy

Steve is actively involved in advocating for greater human and environmental responsibility from our political and business decision makers.  Issues of particular concern are:
  • A fairer deal for pedestrians and cyclists, especially in our urban spaces
  • A commitment to significant greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction to avert catastrophic climate change
  • A foreign policy reflecting more equitable redistribution of the world's resources
  • A focus on harmony and sustainability rather than militarism and exploitation.
